Spring Fashion Trend: Bright and Bold Stripes

Although stripes have been a fashion staple season after season, the Spring/ Summer 2016 trend takes stripes on a wild new journey- and not necessarily in straight lines or equal widths, and when it comes to colours... the more the merrier!

Stripes are one of the most wearable and universally loved patterns around and this season the classic go-to style got a colour update.  Classic stripes get an update this season in a spectrum of colours. Whether you reach for a statement coat or stock up on knit tanks to pair with your favourite denim, brighten up your wardrobe with wide and bold stripes this season.

Don't stop at prints! Stripes were created with stitching, lace, ruffles, beading, raffia and faux fur for spirited yet sophisticated clothing.  Multi-coloured stripe style lessons, courtesy of Gucci, Chanel, Giorgio Armani, MSGM, and Salvatore Ferrragamo.

High contrast – make your rainbow stripes pop by having them against a really dark colour like navy or black. This high contrast will make for an interesting look that you can wear any time of the year, be it in the warmer days of spring and summer or during the colder months of fall and winter.

Another really great way to wear the rainbow stripes trend is to wear it bright and bold. With so many colours to see in a rainbow striped ensemble, it’s easy to make a statement and if that’s what you’re going for, make sure to wear your stripes in bright, bold and vibrant hues.

If you are a little bit intimidated by the rainbow stripes trend and you’re afraid of ending up with an outfit that has too much going on, you can always simply pair up your rainbow striped piece with white. This makes for a clean look that’s super chic and sophisticated.  Or if you’re feeling a little adventurous and you want to take some fashion risks, you can also try going all out and wearing your rainbow stripes from head to toe. This is rather tricky to pull off but with the right pieces and with the right balance of colours throughout your look, you can do it.

If you really don’t feel like you can pull off rainbow stripes start small by wearing it as a subtle accent or a pop of colour, if you may, to add a lively vibe to your outfit.

Another way to wear rainbow stripes with a more toned down vibe is to wear it mixed up with classic black and white stripes for a fun look that’s neither too plain nor too bold.

Womens Loafer Shoe Trend

Inject a little polish into your shoe collection with women’s loafers. They are one of the current fashion trends.  Loafers are a shoe that has always been worn by men, now women can enjoy them too.  Loafers make great alternatives for flats. They’re just as comfy and easy to wear but they’re a little less girly and feminine.  If you’re looking for something that you can wear with just about anything and everything you have in your closet, a loafer may just be what you need.

Go for a fringed or tasselled design in black or brown leather for a timeless look. Alternatively, give this classic an update with our red, metallic or leopard print options.

The refined loafer style is great for adding a sophisticated, androgynous edge to your workday wear, especially when teamed with a smart blazer. On sunny days, more casual slip-ons go brilliantly with a pair of breezy linen shorts.

The key is to find a balance: if you’re rocking an edgy or for a sophisticated look OPT for loafers as they will tone it down. Or keep it simple but add those details that make all the difference.

They are so comfortable, they look amazing with feminine clothesdresses & skirts with or without tights. It gives you that boho-chic-innocent vibe.

For a professional smart look, loafers are the best with trousers/skirts/dresses and a blazer on top. Keep them black for a basic smart look or go for printed or coloured ones for a professional sophisticated style. I love the animal print ones and the bright coloured ones.

So let’s get some fashion inspiration from some truly great street looks. So many ways to rock the loafers look this spring…

Spring Nail Art Design Trends 2016

Welcome the spring with colourful and beautiful nail art designs.

See what nail art designs are trending on the fashion week circuit and pick your favourites to give your look an update without costing a fortune.

Modern Lines - Paint nails a trendy pastel colour. Then use a nail art brush to draw thin lines across your nail. Alternate between horizontal and vertical lines to mix things up.

Add a cool twist to your typical french mani with cool colour blocking. Start by painting your nails white and wait for it to dry completely. Paint your tips black and let them dry completely. Finish by using a nail art pen to outline the bottom of your tips with an colour polish.

Flirty Flowers, bring out your inner girly girl and select pretty blooming flowers and floral styles.  Nothing screams feminine quite like flowers and pastel colours, however if you favour darker nail varnish colours, you can still rock this trend, just use a dark base and bright colour flowers like yellow and white.

The New Frenchie - The standard French mani was reimagined this season. Nail artists created a youthful twist on the classic by incorporating bursts of colour or foil accents. Brightly coloured tips provided an exciting contrast.

Bejeweled and sparkly, glitter gives your nails texture and makes them shine bright like a diamond.  Add a Sparkle on top over a nude nail bed for a dazzling effect.

Here are some spring nails i found to be fresh and fun for spring time.
